About Dirk "Bio Biker"

After I slowly got my cold under control and it disappears, today I again took a lot of fresh air to make sure that the viruses disappear from my body 😆. Then I can go back to work next week and start exercising again. Today I made perfect use of the weather window that kept it dry. Sometimes I even had sun 🌞 and so the walk got longer and longer 🤭 it was done by Rod a. Mountain to Hausen, there through the forest. I even found a small trail that I will probably ride my MTB 🚵‍♂️ We passed the solar panels at the garbage dump in Anspach. Even the sky was shining in a great blue for a moment 😎👍 We continued past the Christmas tree plantation. That's right, it will soon be that time again 🌲🎅 Then circled Anspach and back again, up to Rod a. Mountain. It felt very good, my nose was always running 🤧😆 but I had enough handkerchiefs with me.

Today we went to the Treisberg by car for a short cold walk. From there we walked towards Seelenberg and returned after 3 km. I'm not that fit yet, but the fresh air was good again 🙂 In addition, we could enjoy the first snow for this winter ☃️🥰 simply nice when everything is white and the trees don't look so dreary without leaves. Let's see what snow this winter will bring. I would definitely like to have ridden my bike 🚵‍♂️ here today, but the cold still has me under control, it will definitely take another week until this is 100% over.

In 2019 I had my last cold, thanks to wearing the masks I go out and have been spared so far. But now it caught me 🤧😷🥴 But it was probably something else to blame. During the rowing course in the fitness studio, I had probably rowed too long at the open gate (for ventilation). Briefly dressed and sweaty. A few days later the symptoms came, so headache, runny nose, sore throat - as you know it. On sick leave for 3 days. Today I had to get some fresh air. So I packed up and ran a lap through Anspach. Light drizzle, initially with a bit of snow pebbles was not dream weather. But the fresh Taunus air was good 👍
Then hot tea again and lay down. Hope the cold will clear up soon so that I can do sports again 🏋‍♂️ and also on my bike 🚵‍♂️

The view out of the window after getting up was not much different than the last few days of this very gray, gloomy November ☁️
The only question that remained was, will it stay dry? I really wanted to go biking again, do a bit of sport and trample the everyday life of the work week. I can simply switch off biking, just concentrate on sport and nature 🥰🙂 So I'm off.
It wasn't long on the way, near Wehrheim, just before the Lochmühle, because it started to fissure 💦 But when I'm on the road I don't break off again, except in thunderstorms or heavy rain, so it went on, in the direction of Friedrichsdorf and Bad Homburg. I decided to do a lap that I've driven so often and that is always nice. There are simply several favorite rounds and that is one of them. I just had to stop every now and then and the glasses 👓 dry 🤭 windshield wipers cannot be fitted yet 😅

After 3 weeks without a bike under my bum, except for spinning in the fitness studio, it was time again for a little round 🤪 wrist cured, weather was gray but dry in November. So get on your bike 💪😆
What is immediately noticeable with the cold temperatures and this time of year, it takes a while longer until you finally get away 😅 All those layers of clothes, the boots, the balaclava, the gloves ... It just takes until you have everything on . I'm already looking forward to summer when you can quickly get back on your bike with just a T-shirt and shorts.
I then drove from Anspach around Wehrheim 🚵‍♂️ In the forest over the many leaves, it always makes such beautiful noises and this carpet of leaves looks great 🥰 There wasn't much wind either, so the conditions were good. It was a lot of fun again.

Today, too, it was time to take further care of the wrist, again great sunny weather. So we drove to the Weilburg zoo. Have not been here for a while and it is always worth a visit. Unfortunately there are no more otters and the bears are already in hibernation, but there were still some animals to see. In addition, many trees here again presented their autumn decorations 🍂🍁 in the sun 🌞. At the end of the tour, we stopped in the Wildpark Restaurant / Cafe Hessenhaus. Delicious food and tasty beer 🍺 ended this great excursion. I can only recommend it very much 👍🙂

At the beginning of the week I suffered a severe overstretching of my left wrist while doing sports 🙈 You're just not the youngest anymore. I could hardly move my hand because of the pain, so I went to the doc and wrote me off on Friday. Wrist fixed with splint and treated with Voltaren. Plus a couple of painkillers. Since the feet and legs are still great 🤭 the weather was good and the woman had time off, we went to Bad Nauheim. Through the Kurpark and the Goldsteinpark, we enjoyed the weather, the fresh air and admired the beautiful autumn trees 🍂🍁🥰 In the Goldsteinpark we discovered the small bird of prey observatory.

What a great sunny autumn weather 😎☀️🍂🍁👍 The name Sonntag rightly bears its name again. So off to the bike, I thought to myself to do a quick lap of sport on my own. Clearly at 6.5 degrees in the shade, I put my bike boots and thick socks on again. Of course long trousers, jacket and balaclava under the helmet. Long gloves are of course compulsory because the wind when biking is of course very fresh. But equipped this way, it is wonderful to bike through the autumn sun. When I took a break on a bench on the way, it was really warm in the sun 🌞 wonderful. In addition, these wonderful colors of the trees 🌳 that look so beautiful in the sun. Before we started, however, we had to fill up with tubeless milk. I noticed that the rhythm is right every 3 months. On the last tour I again had a slight loss of air on the rear wheel. This should now be remedied with new milk.

Finally after a couple of weeks bike break due to other commitments, I was on the road again on this autumnal Sunday in the Taunus on this autumnal Sunday 🍂🍁 The sun wasn't as shining as the day before, but the temperatures were still bearable and, moreover, none Wind. From Anspach it went to Wehrheim, there past the swimming pool and until shortly before Pfaffenwiesbach. In the forest between Wehrheim and Pfaffenwiesbach, explored a few beautiful new paths. Then back via Oberloh sports field. Of course, we stopped at the Langwiesenhof farm and bought a little something 😊
Which was also interesting when we passed the fallen spruce in the forest. There on the sign it was explained in detail why these shallow-roots find such a bad hold in the Taunusboden.

On the way home around 5.15 p.m., the 🌞 still seemed beautiful and the temperatures were pleasant to drive in shorts and a T-shirt. However, the wind was quite fresh on the fast downhill sections, so I put a wind vest over it 😎 I enjoyed the drive home and it's always nice how I can switch off immediately after work when I'm on the bike 😇
In Nieder Eschbach, I briefly watched the pensioners move their remote-controlled aircraft 🛩 acrobatically in the sky. This time, on the way home, I decided to drive over the Saalburg on the left side again. The way I drive in the morning. In addition, I was able to drive the beautiful trail parallel to the Bad Homburg golf course. It's always nice to drive here and sometimes feel like you're in the jungle. On the long climb up to the Saalburg, my Garmin watch had recorded my time in the list of the best. 4th place out of 429 people who drove up here and the time was stopped. I was surprised, it seemed a bit slower to me 😅🤭 I put a few pictures here so that you know what I mean. Always find it funny when this function is available and you can see what your fitness level is.
Let's see how the weather continues and whether I can get back to the office to drive.
