The last leg - mostly flat but unremitting and all tired but the amazingly lively atmosphere of the Tynemouth festival was a tonic - now in Premier Inn, bath, food and footie!

After being refused access to two trains at Hebden Bridge (they only take 2 bikes!!) we caught train to Manchester and eventually made it to Whitehaven - hilly route here!

Mammoth with mega hike a biking but also great descents Hebden Bridge to Lower Gorple Reservoir loop

A challenge. Felt my age with cramps - took salt/water and chocco which helped. Lesson: adapt this route to avoid mega haul and avoid coffee on a day of such challenges. The stats don’t tell you how hard the haul was from Lumb Hole Falls to High Brown Knoll. A…
