To take advantage of the last beautiful autumn days, I took a day off extra, let me take the train to Wuppertal-Vohwinkel and drove back to Unna from there using all sorts of train tracks. I love these one-way routes where you have no way back.
The short version: awesome to Witten. Then I would plan the route differently next time. Maybe only a bit of the Ruhr Valley trails and then over Hengsen.
But from the beginning:
After a pleasant train ride the station Vohwinkel was actually already the first highlight. The entrance to the northern railway line was then a bit bumpy to find. But after that it was almost unbeatable. The Wuppertal's understanding of innovative and well thought-out transport concepts has already been proven by the suspension railway. The Nordbahntrasse does not need to hide behind it though. On the big pinion it goes fast on the super-developed route uphill.
