Got lucky with the weather for the walk and the views . Quite a few others up there , so can imagine in great weather it gets busy .... lengthened the walk by starting in Wellington but this helped me enjoy (?) Ercall hill as well .

Completed a leg of Macmillan Way then looped back on part of another long trail — Monarchs Way (615 miles !!).. came back via Chedworth woods where it would be easy to get lost as there are numerous unmarked paths ..

Nice stretch of canal network with pretty good paths most of way ... mainly countryside where the canal was cut through sandstone. Glimpses of its industrial past in Kidderminster

Very steep hill that is in Wales but surrounded by Shropshire. The stone circle is worth a visit and you can see why ancestors held it ‘ important ‘ ..

Early start to pick up the 2nd highest in Shropshire. It’s a good climb up and down if you start in Stiperstones village ... too windy today for me to think of any clambering on the big rocks ..

Some days it’s all about the journey not the destination! The early start to this low ranking ‘ Marilyn ‘ was rewarded with great skies and views of The Malvern Hills to the East

Picked up 2nd walk of day ... 200 metres lower than snowy Brecons but still a good climb to this windy County High Point . Quieter than Wales too - didn’t see another soul...

Saw this mountain on a calendar and thought ‘ I’ll walk that ‘ ... pretty cold but dry and bright . Climbed from Storey Arms car park ( be early !! ) to the peak of 734 metres and then unusually , down to the trig point . Great views of beautiful Pen y Fan .

Destination NCR 63 , via villages of Staffs Leicestershire Derbyshire . A good off-road section of 63 between Measham and Swadlincote takes in some historical important industrial sites - canals , colliery , furnace - that have now gone from Black to Green as part of the National Forest 🌳

Not my original plan for the day but was good to see these woods on a mild winter morning with low sun coming through the trees

Final section of Oxford canal as it falls into the Thames . In the wake of Storm Dennis it was amazing the volume of water that was being diverted away from the busy streets of Oxford via the river , canal , streams and flood plains .. I believe Oxford is set for a further £150m in future flood defences .
