Got lucky with the weather for the walk and the views . Quite a few others up there , so can imagine in great weather it gets busy .... lengthened the walk by starting in Wellington but this helped me enjoy (?) Ercall hill as well .

Completed a leg of Macmillan Way then looped back on part of another long trail — Monarchs Way (615 miles !!).. came back via Chedworth woods where it would be easy to get lost as there are numerous unmarked paths ..

Nice stretch of canal network with pretty good paths most of way ... mainly countryside where the canal was cut through sandstone. Glimpses of its industrial past in Kidderminster

Final section of Oxford canal as it falls into the Thames . In the wake of Storm Dennis it was amazing the volume of water that was being diverted away from the busy streets of Oxford via the river , canal , streams and flood plains .. I believe Oxford is set for a further £150m in future flood defences .
