Not recommended. All day endurance hike with unnecessary obstacles and very few interesting landmarks. The first section of the trip, namely Ozolnieki - Olaine crosses a forest path, already marked by me in red, where the path is either destroyed by heavy forestry machinery, debris or both. The path is also overgrown by fern at times, hiding deep, almost invisible puddles underneath. How did I find out? Well, take a wild guess.. The second section, namely Olaine - Jaunmarupe has a non-existent bridge on it's path, consisting of two thin wooden branches laid over a drainage canal. My feet were already wet so I took a risk yet for a split second I thought I'm about to have an "impromptu dip".

All day endurance hike. Several grocery stores on the way - no need to carry all the provision from the beginning. Relatively flat - no major climbs or descents.

Quite industrial scenery, passing several ports and a shipbuilding facility. Since the path mostly leads North, the sun is not directly glaring into eyes.

Not recommended. On the first half of the hike there were plenty of fallen trees and unexpected ravines, several old footpaths have vanished under debris and it involved trespassing on private land - owners were helpful yet wary, Essentially - very slow self-torture with little scenery on the way. Second half of the hike was better, yet by the time I got to it I was already too tired to enjoy. Better avoid.

Very nice endurance hike with plenty of beautiful scenery on the first half of the hike and relatively straightforward walk back. Note that the path near Gauja river involves some relatively steep climbs and descends, therefore surefootedness required.

All and all an interesting all day endurance hike. However I would strongly advice against attempts to follow Gauja river bends at the beginning of the hike. I started from the bridge (recording begins a bit later, as indicated on the map) and had to cross private property and a stream, where a footpath is non-existent at times. After this "all-terrain" part of the adventure I found 17 (sic!) tics on my trousers. After that the hike was good. However, it includes sections of steep climbs and descends, therefore surefootedness is highly required.
