Hike partly on country roads, but they are hardly used. The area north of Lofou was destroyed by a forest fire in 2025. The hike therefore partly leads through burnt pine forests, which in 2026 still showed few signs of recovery. Nice was the spontaneous contact with locals - a family invited us for a cup of coffee.

A varied, fairly easy bike tour southwest of Brühl. Mainly gravel paths, several short but steep climbs. Lots of places to stop for a break. Opportunity to swim or have a picnic at several lakes. At the end, you have the opportunity to visit Augustusburg Castle and stop off at one of the many cafes and restaurants in Brühl.

Very varied hike with beautiful views over the island. Many of the small bridges along the path at the waterfalls were damaged and unusable, so you have to improvise crossings over the rushing mountain stream several times.
