After a hearty breakfast before another long day in the saddle, we climbed out of Blois into the countryside again, and onto some excellent cobbled secteurs.

Sun followed us all day on our first stage, rolling out of the city of Paris to head south. We clocked up a decent 125 miles (203 km) despite the growing winds, to the gorgeous city of Blois that dates back to the Middle Ages. We finished the day with the last leg to Montrichard, where we spent the night.
