A walk due south of Colchester town centre, incorporating Colchester garrison, Friday Woods,Donyland Woods, the endangered Middlewick rangers, and Colchester cemetery. The route follows public rights of way, crossing a couple of busy roads. Toilets and refreshments at the start of route.

Nice walk from Colchester town centre returned on bus,[61]from Wivenhoe railway station, nice pub opposite while you wait for bus. Some of the paths could be wet and overgrown depending on the time of year.
