I used part of a longer route somebody else posted but because komooy showed many of the smaller paths it was possible to make our own route keeping track of our position using gps. Despite it being saturday, we met few people which allowed us to fully enjoy the tranquility of this beautiful forest.

This was a great outing. If I do it again in the summer, I would start even earlier (at 7:00), although the last part is a quite shady descent from Puerta de la Encina down to the outskirts of Alhaurin el Grande. Quite a hard climb out of Mijas up to Pico Mendza (the detour to the summit was worth it
