This got pretty grueling by the time I left Blackwater. Flattest area I've ever been, but the headwind was constant. If I did this again I would come straight north after leaving the refuge and cut it much shorter.

Mostly pleasant, easy ride down the length of Kent Island. Large part of the middle of the ride was along a 40-50 mph road but the top and bottom were along an isolated bike trail. Good seafood restaurants in the north and a few good views along the way. On the way back I made a quick detour through

This goes by the rest area on the NCR trail by Monkton. Good place to stop for snacks, drinks, or a meal.
