This challenging route along a historic wall offers spectacular high-altitude views but requires careful preparation due to extreme conditions and local access issues. Location: Approximately 40.69° N, 117.19° E, navigating rugged, historic terrain. Total Duration: Approximately 5 hours and 16 minutes (01:37:42 to 06:53:57). +1 Elevation Profile: * Starting Elevation: 374.1 meters. Peak Elevation: Approximately 468.1 meters. Total Ascent: The trail features a series of significant climbs, notably reaching its first major peak plateau about 2 hours and 40 minutes into the hike. ⚠️ Critical Safety & Access Information Please read carefully before attempting this route: Restricted Military Zone: Around 900m into the trek, the wall path is blocked by military fencing. This is a Sperrgebiet (restricted area). The track detours for approximately 3.4 km before merging back onto the wall. Heat & Exposure Warning: If hiking in June, the heat can be extreme. After merging back onto the wall, the stone acts like a "Bakingofen" (oven), absorbing and radiating heat from the sun all day. Supplies: Carry a significant amount of water. Wear a cap to protect your head and apply plenty of sunscreen. Local Extortion Alert: Upon merging back to the wall, you may encounter locals demanding money for the "Seilbahn" (cable car) or passage. They may show fake IDs and claim to work for the Ministry of Tourism. Advice: If they threaten to call the police, insist that they do so. This typically causes them to leave. Route Highlights Initial Ascent: The hike starts at 374m and climbs quickly, reaching 400m within the first 10 minutes of the trek. High Ridge Traverse: Much of the middle and later stages are spent at high elevations (420m - 468m), offering sweeping views. +1 Technical Sections: The path follows the natural, often steep, contours of the wall, with frequent elevation changes that require steady footing.
