Between Prims and Sollbach you walk on romantic paths past natural monuments and rock formations. Old border markers as well as fantastic views from Schlossberg over Vogelsbüsch back to Büschfeld complete the hiking trail. The Sollbachtal formed between 1920 and 1935, the border between the German Reich and the then "Saar area", which was subordinate to the League of Nations at this time.

This year, the jubilee hiking marathon came back to Saarland. The today's long distance was a small piece of the 2nd stage of the Saar-Hunsrück-Steigs and the stages 3-5 completely. A very challenging route with lots of ups and downs, beautiful paths through the cool forest, lots of water, impressive rocks and beautiful views. Again a great organization with enough food stations👍👏
It started early at 5.45 clock with bus transfer from the finish to the start, the hike I started at 6.15 😴

For the hiking weekend in Saarland, I've been looking for accommodation in beautiful nature right on the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig. So it started today directly on foot, first on the SHS on the Hochwald-Alm to Grimburg, continue towards Kell. About MTB routes up to the Devil's Head and Schimmelkopf, descent over the four oaks to the SHS, then on this back to the inn. On the way, the GPS has been exposed, because there's now a straight line in the map, but I've also wandered here on the SHS. Even today a great route, I can definitely recommend the way and his dream loops. Exemplary also the marking and for emergencies the signs with the km and Weginfos👍

As a preparation for the walking marathon on sunday I chose this really nice tour. Great paths, a lot next to streams, some rocks and pristine nature with trees full of moss and lichen, almost a primeval forest 😊😍

Today a leisurely tour to Hintersee 😍 and on to the suspension bridge without many vertical meters and with only moderate rain. I could close the umbrella more often 😂☀️ A really nice way, which is certainly overrun in the sun ... today was very pleasantly calm😊

The last stage on the SAS has been completed for the time being. "In continuous rain, the trail initially led uphill through the gorge, then beautifully on the brine pipeline route down to Engedey. Here began the ascent to the Grünsteinhütte, which I reached after a strenuous cardiovascular test completely soaked. With a warm pea soup in the stomach and warmed up by the fireplace, we went down to Königssee. The way was damaged in the upper area after Murenabgängen partly bad and I was sometime not only wet, but also completely muddy. 😳Although the weather did not always go along, it was a great hike and I perceived the mountains and nature even more intensively than on the Bo-Ko bike tour a year ago. And I have seen so many Lurchis today as never before in one day 😍😍Jetzt I stay here one more day and enjoy the nice weather 😉😂☔️🌧

From Bischofswiesen on the Maximiliansreitweg with stunning panoramic and Watzmannblick I was after 5.45 km back on the SAS. A very long climb led up to Mordaualm at about 1200 m altitude with a fantastic view of Hochkalter, Watzmann and what else is there for mountains 😉 after the long descent into the valley, I now enjoy the balcony with Watzmannblick 😍😍

Today's stage was only about 12.5 km long on the SAS. To stay overnight it should go from the campsite Winkl by bus to Bischofswiesen. But since I want to hike and not drive, I walked over the SAS-Zuweg direction Bischofswiesen. Unfortunately, it was sometime on the bike path on the B20 🙁🙉 fortunately I still found the Maxweg and so could walk with wonderful panoramic views to the hotel 😍 amazing how much snow is still on the mountains 🏔 when I am a year ago to Königssee cycled , everything was already green🙂
The hotel has a dream location and I have a room with a balcony and mountain views 😍 could stay right and vacation 😊
