This is a short walk which is accessible quickly from the centre of town, and starts and finishes from the excellent Bridge Patisserie. I saw a heron today, but the deer were hiding.

This ends at a supermarket with good parking (I was actually buying haggis for Burns night tbh) so you could park there and follow a scenic route into town. Bridge street is at the bottom of the high street and right by king alfreds statue and the bridge street patisserie for refreshments!

At 5.7 miles, after Rockley, there is a good track going straight on along the valley. This was not recognised by Komoot so we attempted to follow the komoot path obliquely uphill across a meadow. This was a faff, and involved barely existing path. Next time we would follow the lower track.
