It's been a long hike again in the best October weather. There was also a stamp for the Harz hiking pin 😬.

Briefly the weather checked and "oh not so good" but it doesn't matter, planned, planned. So packed and made my wife's dream tour, the Liebesbankweg. We had been recommended this by friends. Of course, the Liebesbankweg with a length of approx. 6 km was too short for a journey of 1.45 hours. So another stamping point (HWN 113) is planned at the Grumbacher Teich. On the map everything looked fine, only in practice there was a piece that my wives referred to as a survival tour.
On this part (km 7 to km 8) there was no more recognizable path, everything was wet and flooded. We had to crawl over fallen trees and roots and I hoped my wives would forgive me.
On the whole, it was a nice tour, even if the sun was missing. The Liebesbankweg is definitely worth a trip and you should take the time to read the explanations at each bank.
PS .: What we didn't like that much is the amount of rubbish that people left there.

Yesterday the weather checked and today you went on a nice hiking tour for a long time. For the first tour after a long time at home, however, quite demanding in places 😰. But otherwise very worth seeing.

Today again a little stamp tour in the Harz, this meal should be Blankenburg. The stamps HWN 78 - Baroque Gardens, HWN 77 - Ruin Luisenburg and HWN 79 - Otto-Ebert-Brücke are planned.
There were a few more, because there were also the following special stamps HWN 9940 - Bundeswehr Exhibition, HWN 990806 - Great Castle Blankenburg and HWN 990812 - Small Castle Blankenburg.
The weather was great, not too cold and the sun also showed up. Unfortunately, you can only visit the castle on Sunday by appointment, but the outside is well worth seeing. The baroque garden on the way to the castle is beautifully laid out and you have a beautiful view of Blankenburg. The further hiking trail led us to the Luisenburg viewpoint, which is only reminiscent of a sign. But here is a good opportunity for the first rest. We continue to the Sägemühlenteich and the Otto-Ebert-Brücke. As a reward, we treated ourselves to lunch in the Ziegenkopf, which has the largest yeast dumplings in the world (at least it says on a sign at the entrance). Afterwards we went back towards Blankenburg with a detour through the old town and an unexpected visit to a flea market. On the whole, a nice little tour is always like a day's vacation.

Small stamp tour near Wernigerode.Quickly decided to plan a Sunday excursion, shouldn't be far away and have something for the little ones and a few stamps for the big ones.So take a look at our overview map of the Harz hiking needle and you have already decided on a destination: Wernigerode with its beautiful castle and wildlife park. All in all, this brings us four stamps, one the themed stamp Schloss Wernigerode (HWN 990822), the Agnesberg (HWN 31), the Christianental at the wildlife park (HWN 32) and the special stamp in the Wernigerode tourist information office (HWN 9922).The weather is sunny, only the wind is gusty over the mountains. But that can't bother us, because there is only bad clothing and no bad weather. We started at the Brockenbahn station in Wernigerode and through part of the old town up to the castle. Then on a not always clearly signposted forest path towards Agnesberg to the stamping point and a beautiful view of the castle and the city of Wernigerode. Following the path, it brought us to the wildlife park, which is well worth seeing with its entrance fee of one euro (donation) and the range of local wild animals. At the Waldgasthaus there is the next stamping point and the possibility to exchange the stamps you have hiked for the Harz hiking needles. Here we were able to strike right away, because we were allowed to buy the hiking princess for the little ones and the Harz hiking pin in bronze and silver for the big ones. There was also an ice cream for the child and we could start our way back through the forest. Finally, there was a little stroll through the old town and a coffee and cake visit at Café Wiecker (delicious cake).
