The Gedankental is a beautiful hiking trail, which goes through the forest and the corridor, and is well signposted.
If you omit the round through the place, you do not need to run the short distance on the road. And at the Sibyllenbad there are plenty of free parking spaces, from where you can start many hikes. In the tourist information there are many flyers, e.g. "Hiking in Neualbenreuth"

Again a tour at 2-digit temperatures, but the fog has left the sun little chance.

Hello Otto, was definitely a super tour, I feel. Weather fit again, nice photos and area. This time I was not down so the Charly was on the spot 😉.
Season is slowly coming to an end.

On the forest adventure trail "Squirrel" shows you the right way.
Attention: The path is only signposted from the parking lot at the ASV sports grounds in one direction.
Although a root way, but that's just how it is in the forest.
For stroller and wheelchair rather less suitable, but that is a matter of opinion.
I can only recommend anyone, not just kids. Even so, there are interesting things to see and experience. In the course of the path 21 stations are created.
When you arrive at the "Lauschecke", you have the possibility to go straight on to the Kappl, to have a snack at the Kapplwirt or to visit the beautiful Trinity Church. On the same way back to the Lauschecke, then continue right on the forest adventure trail again (about 3 km more).
If you do not turn into the forest near the water treading basin, and follow the gravel path, you will pass a deer enclosure at the top of the forest.
A tip at the end: who owns binoculars, should take it, then you have more of the Kappl and basilica view.

Experience in the footsteps of the great world religions
      the importance of water ...
"Water, you have neither taste nor color nor aroma.
You can not describe yourself. You are tasted,
without knowing you. It's not like you're supposed to
Life needs: you yourself are life. You are the most delicious possession of this earth. You give us an indescribable simple and great luck. "
      Antoine of Saint-Exupéry
Christianity, Judaism and Islam emerged in one
low-water living environment. Without adequate water
but no life can arise. The religious interpretation
was therefore from the beginning with the element of water
connected. In the creation myths of many cultures
      it plays a central role.
As a symbol of cleansing and renewal is the water
an important part of religious ceremonies.
In the world religions, water is the source of life
      and elixir of life.
But water is more than the formula H2O suggests.
Discover that the water is an amazing part
a creation is, life in a wonderful way
      creates and preserves.

We started on the Bockl cycle path from Neustadt and near Haupertsreuth in the direction of Flossenbürg. After we had climbed the Schlossberg, which was not easy, we continued to the concentration camp memorial. Here we had an oppressive feeling in the stomach, considering that at least 100,000 people were detained, and at least 30,000 of them were killed.
Then it went on to the geographical center of Central Europe. Since there are several methods of calculation, several places claim the title for themselves.

Spent a nice Sunday in Fanzensbad. Shortly listened to the spa concert and drove to the seafood restaurant on the said coffee, and a beer we have indulged.

On the Steinwald- and Fichtelnaab bike path cycled around the stone forest. For lunch break a trip to the Landgasthof Steinwald made, as no day off, this is always a safe address for a break.
