Nice stage, even though it was long. After starting at the Spießberghaus, we were back on the Rennsteig quite quickly. From here, with a few exceptions, it went through the forest. However, there were several observation towers from which you had a beautiful view over the forest.

Easy hike to the Niederhoferalm. After getting out of the cable car, you pass the Kristallalm, following path number 7 in the direction of the Alm.
