As of 2024, the first part of this route is not a proper cycle route yet so should be avoided (very muddy, wet and bumpy). Once the route joins the road, it was fine.
The first half of the route is mainly on the road with quite some traffic, so not too enjoyable. After Nove Mesto, the route joins a cycle path which is very welcome!
The first part of the ride is beautiful, up into a forest park, with a cosy hut at the top serving food and drinks. Then there is a long descent on asphalt, to the other side of the park. The second half of the journey is mainly along roads with some traffic, so was not that fun. At the end point, there
Some nice views in the early part before dropping down to the lake/reservoir. There were quite a lot of insects around there, so glasses are advisable! The scenery around the lake is quaint. The climb up to Ziar is tough but the view over the valley towards the top is awesome!
