Rund um den Eisenberg gibt es einige schöne Wanderwege. Der Panoramaweg glänzt mit tollen Aussichtspunkten und netten Rastmöglichkeiten. Leider stehen Hotel und Gasthof auf dem Eisenberg leer und suchen nach einem neuen Betreiber.

Herbstliche Pilztour am Landecker

Eine schöne Mittelstrecke durch die umliegenden Wälder der Roßbachhöhe. Der Biergarten am Start- und Zielpunkt löscht den Durst nach der Tour.

Museumswanderweg Schmalkalden (Touringen Stempel 381, 382, 383)
Zwischen Feldern und Wiesen schlängelt sich die Strecke durchs Offenland und bietet entlang des Lutherweges immer mal wieder schöne Ausblicke.
Alles sehr unspektakulär, bis man schließlich die imposanten Breitensteine quert. Von dort aus geht es durchs Tal zurück nach Schmalkalden.

Rundwanderung "Alte Tambacher Talsperre" (Touringen Stempel 318, 319, 320)
Die Wanderung um die alte Talsperre bietet auf der ersten Hälfte nahezu märchenhafte Waldwege. Nach dem Felsentor sieht man das ganze Ausmaß des Klimawandels - ein Großteil des schönen Fichtenwaldes liegt am aufgeschichtet am Wegesrand und wartet auf Abholung.

Pilzrunde am Landecker
Trotz erster Regenfälle war heute nicht wirklich mit Pilzfunden zu rechnen und doch gab es gleich fünf Erstfunde zu vermelden:
1. Sklerotien-Stielporling (Polyporus tuberaster)
2. Langstielige Ahorn-Holzkeule (Xylaria longipes)
3. Hasenpfote (Coprinopsis lagopus)
4. Gesäter Tintling (Coprinellus disseminatus)
5. Rotbuchen-Kohlenbeere (Biscogniauxia nummularia)

Neuer Rundwanderweg Soisdorf
Der neu angelegte Rundwanderweg um Soisdorf ist grundsätzlich eine schöne Sache….
Leider hat man versäumt, die Strecke zu beschildern. Die Stationen sind allesamt mit Schildern versehen, allerdings wird man mit der Routenfindung erstmal allein gelassen.
Vielleicht regelt man da noch etwas nach, ansonsten mag diese Tour hier als Vorlage dienen,…

Auf dem Dr. Malade-Weg ist Genusswandern angesagt! Auf den knapp 9 Kilometern sind nur wenige Höhenmeter zu überwinden. Die Strecke führt vornehmlich durch Offenland und so hat man ständig die Rhön und den Thüringer Wald im Blickfeld.

Alexanderturm Tour (Touringen Stempel 15, 16, 17)
Die Tour zum Alexanderturm ist eine kurze aber schöne Wanderung mit zwei wirklich beeindruckenden Aussichtspunkten. Am Start- und Zielpunkt finden sich mit der Sommerrodelbahn und dem „mini-a-thür“ zudem noch zwei touristische Attraktionen, die gerade den kleinen Wanderern viel Freude bereiten.
