It's a great tour, but if you walk without a map it will be really difficult as the markers (red/white) don't come that often and there are many possible paths on the route. You should rather do the tour with suitable shoes, as it gets a bit slippery with sneakers. Was a nice experience and sometimes a bit off the main paths.
