The Wietkieckenberg is with almost 125 m the highest mountain in our area. A fire watchtower was built on top of it. This was replaced in 2012 by a 55 m high antenna tower and equipped with a viewing platform.
Every now and then we hike there to look at the surroundings from above. If the visibility is good, the Berlin TV tower can also be seen.

For me that was the best tour. As almost always had views of the Atlantic. The passage with the ropes was a challenge, but it worked well. The bridge looks very vaguely constructed from afar. But she is stable and was good to commit. On the way back we came straight to a restaurant that was preparing really delicious food on the grill. This also led me to rate this tour as one of the best.

Today we had really great weather. Therefore we wanted to go swimming.
Of course, had to be a small tour.
We parked our car in the parking lot of Prainha. From there you can already see the bay with the natural beach.
But first we crossed the street and immediately found the way, which led over lava, stones and boulders to the steep coast. The view of the roaring surf is always spectacular.
I recommend then to finish the lap behind the mountain and not to run as we do on the cliff-facing side. A misstep and you inevitably fall down. Therefore, we also turned around and found a way on the safe side.As a bathing bay Prainha is highly recommended. There is fine (dark) sand. At the weekend we even open the kiosk.

On a November day the drizzle was chasing Caniço. So we set out to discover the fairy world of Fanal. Already the journey had it all. The clouds hunted in the mountains. Near the forest house Fanal we parked the car and already the fairy forest swallowed us.
Trees stretched out their arms wide. The fairies walked from branch to branch ...
No view anywhere.
The mountains did not show until the return journey towards Port Moniz.
There we marveled at the powerful dance of the water spirits.

Actually, we wanted to follow the tour of Julli. On the coast it was still adventurous ... steep cliffs, great views.
Then we followed the tour, uphill and uphill. When I thought it did not go higher, there was a bend and it went steeply uphill again ... at some point we gave up.
So we searched for our own way down.
We passed many gardens, abandoned land and saw an incredible number of flowers and plants, which are pampered and pampered with us.
At the beach promenade we finished our tour with a delicious poncha.
