After hiking in snow at -10 last week, now at plus 16 and blue skies over the Hainholz Karst circular hiking trail.Stefanie reminded us with her tour at Ührde that we always wanted to run in the corner. The circular route through the gently rolling karst landscape and through the wood with the sinkholes and the Jetten Cave is a nice, varied little tour. We really liked it and got a lot of vitamin D, today😎

A very nice route with a moderate climb through a beech forest with wild bear carpet. Once at the top you are rewarded on the ridge trail: a beautiful single trail and there are numerous opportunities to rest on one of the cliffs combined with a wonderful view. If you take the round to Ascension, you are not alone on the road🙄 and the Ith Tower is unfortunately closed due to a pandemic 😞

Great weather, all green and little going on ... a nice round, the ferry at the beginning, the wonderful view from the skywalk, a little "town" and the beautiful butterfly climb (Weserberglandweg) on the way back. The view from the Huguenot Tower is great and the tower system itself has something. Above all, there are no unreasonable people jostling without masks and keeping distances. On the skywalk, a couple comfortably positioned themselves with a bottle of red wine on the stairs between the upper and lower platforms, so that everyone had to pass close to them. We were shocked at how people's minds are starting to fail again.

Clouds coming from the west are popular, so quickly a few kilometers to the east into the Thuringian Basin in order to take a little more sun with you. The Helbetal is a beautiful wide meadow valley (14 km in length). Sometimes you walk directly along the Helbe, every now and then a bank or a rest area. You cross the Helbe over some rotten wooden bridges, in summer probably better through the fords next to it. In the upper area, the Helbe ran no more water ... we will repeat the tour again when everything is green ;-)

From Naensen you can slowly feel your way up to the top and be rewarded with views of the meadows and hills around the village on the way up. One cannot get a look at the upper pool (without a drone), but compensates for the views from and onto the Seltersklippen. A highlight is the lookout point of the pumped storage system, above the pipes that lead the water into the lower basin.

The tour does not start in Bursfelde, but rather above, on a forest path with a hiking map. On the way there you have the Nieme, on the way back you come across Nds. / Hessen on another small stream and at the end you will be rewarded with a beautiful view over Bursfelde. Especially in summer it is already cool and shady with plenty of water to refresh people and dogs. You can also stop off in Bursfelde ;-)

The Börlgraben runs from Knutbühren past Hetjershausen (at Hasenwinkel) and then merges into the Flötegraben (at Elliehausen).
In the valley below Hetjershausen it is usually pleasantly shady and some water flows in the ditch, where the dog can cool its paws at higher temperatures. In spring you can also pick wild garlic very nicely ;-)
The round can also be started from Hetjershausen (parking at Schützenhaus Hetjershausen and then 50 meters downhill to get started ...July 24, 2019

From purchases past the Friedwald it goes uphill for a while. The lake invites you to rest ... on the way back the wind turbines impress and unfortunately a lot of wind breaks again ...
