Today's hike began in the Rantum dunes, not far from the famous beach restaurant "Sansibar." The six-kilometer route led along the almost deserted beach to Hörnum. After a short detour through the western part of the town, I reached the southern tip of Sylt at the Tetrapods on the Hörnum Odde. A short

A short break on Sylt in frosty January 2026! We started our hike today through the fresh snow from our holiday apartment in Wenningstedt. First, we walked along the hiking trail above the beach to the Red Cliff. The view of the snow-covered dunes and the beach was breathtaking. There weren't many other

After 734 km, I arrived in Marseille late this afternoon!

I started the 10th and final leg this morning in Port-de-Bouc.

Yesterday I had already seen the many cargo ships far out at sea. After leaving the hotel and heading towards Marseille, I realized that on the other side of the city was a

The ninth day of my trip from Barcelona to Marseille began with a sightseeing tour of the beautiful old city of Arles. The city was already a military colony 50 years BC, during the time of Caesar.

The magnificent amphitheater is very well preserved and blends harmoniously into the cityscape. But the

Today I started the day with a short tour of Montpellier. I was up very early, so there weren't many people in the pretty old town yet. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great again today! It was very windy, and the sun didn't come out at all.

Unfortunately, the wonderful weather of the past week has deserted me. It was mostly overcast all day, with only occasional glimpses of sunshine. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed day 7 of my trip from Barcelona to Marseille. I set off from my accommodation in Nissan-lez-Ensurene in the early morning

I left my accommodation in Le Barcarès early, as another long leg of my journey was on the agenda. I also wanted to take some time to see a bit of the city of Narbonne. I cycled along the beautiful Étang de Leucate lake to the town of Leucate.

Then I continued through the wonderful Narbonnaise en Méditerran

Spain is done!

After starting in La Jonquera this morning, I first had to climb eight kilometers before reaching the border town of El Pertus (Spain)/Le Perthus (France) and crossing into France. Just like in La Jonquera, there were plenty of large supermarkets and outlet stores where you could shop to
