We had to cut this walk short because the path was flooded. Normally you can walk another mile or so down to the fort.

Not the shortest route to the Mausoleum but one of the best.

Summer will show you plenty of wild flowers in the meadows and an abundance of birds. Beware of the heat though, as you will be spending long periods out in the open.

In winter there is much less wildlife and lots of cloying mud in the valley

This is a linear walk, and easily achievable as a there and back again sunny afternoon amble from either end.

You should see a fair bit of wild life, and there are there is plenty of chances to stop and watch the river go by.

There are refreshments at the Cambridge End.
