The Butterfly Trail is actually 3.5 km long, not a circular route, so you have to return. Since it was very hot and there was hardly any shade, we took the return route through Willebadessen halfway through. It's definitely worth walking the entire trail. The view alone is beautiful.

Beautiful wetlands, usually with plenty of water in ditches and streams. But there hasn't been enough rain. The forest paths are very beautiful. The heathlands are in full bloom. The area is worth exploring.

This trail is perfect for butterfly lovers. It's a beautiful walk along the Ems River. A butterfly meadow teeming with species: butterflies, bees, bumblebees, grasshoppers, ladybugs, and much more.

A very nice route. A varied route with beautiful views. Recommended for sunny and hot weather. Only a short stretch without shade. There are numerous orchids; you just have to look closely. We really enjoyed it again.

A very beautiful stretch of the Ems. Along the Hessel River and through a bit of forest. Finally, fields and the Ems again. Very nice loop.

A very nice walk. It's a comfortable one. At the end, you can stop at the Ewige Liebe restaurant. They have a lovely terrace with a view of the lake.

Now we know where our beloved Ems River originates. The Moosheide is a very beautiful area. Lovely sandy paths through heathland. It's hard to believe how the Ems River emerges from this small trickle.
