Stayed at a hotel at the base of the Restonica valley. Short ride to the end of the road with a few steep bits. That is what the hotel manager said. Well worth the ride but 16% was a little steeper than expected.

A day spin out from the hotel. We arrived early, dropped the bags and ventured out on a loop. Tiny tarmac road that would perhaps be rough on skinny tyres but fine on 40mm gravel tubeless. This area had a village revolution a few years ago.

A lovely ride up into the mountains on quiet roads with very pleasant gradients. Some spectacular views and a chance encounter with some pretty photogenic wild pigs.

Amazing day in the mountains. Possibly the longest continuous climb I've ridden at 24 mile. passing super clear boulder straams and into mature Alpine forest. Then a couple of ups and downs before getting back to the sea and a day off. Bad weather for tomorrow.
