Day 3 of our St. James Walkway adventure was ambitious. Since we now had PJ (my car) waiting for us at the end, thanks to the NIWA runners with whom we did a key swap on Day 2, we decided to go for it and finish the trip on Day 3. We knew it would be dark before the end, but an hour with head torches

Day 1 of our St. James Walkway tramping adventure. Andrew, Mathew, Greg, and I set out from the Lewis Pass car park around 11:30 am and made it to Ada Pass Hut before dark. Beautiful weather and scenery! We got Greg pretty warmed up.

Felt so good to get out into the mountains. Happy alert Level 2!
Andrew, Mathew, Sam, and I climbed Mt. Bruce in Arthur's Pass National Park and apart from some clouds that obstructed our view from the top a bit, it was a beautiful day. We even got to build a couple of small snowmen! :)

Return to the first swing bridge with Andrew and Mathew since the others wanted to leave later. 47 river crossings are the most I've done in 1 day!
