Netherthorpe Airfield & Chesterfield Canal
Ride to Netherthorpe for plane spotting at Sheffield Aero Club, great cafe there for lunch. Came back down Chesterfield Canal, Turnerwood is a real beaty spot on the canal.

Southwell Minster (Cathedral)
Nice ride out and back via Sherwood Pines and Southwell trail. Walked around the Catheral grounds. Planned to stop at Woodberry Cafe in Farnsfield, found out it closed November 2025. Found a Farnsfield butchers shop, pavement table and excellent chilli jam sausage roll with a coffee!

Clumber Park and Gravel
Through Sherwood Forest, around Clumber Park lake. Return ride back into Sherwood but taking different route to Warsop. Stopped at No19 Cafe (High Street) for lunch. Continued by using route of Glorious Gravel along Peafield Lane, through to River Maun and Garabaldi Woods.

Hardwick Hall and Teversal
Pleasley Vale (Little Matlock), then by Pleasley Colliery Visitors Centre onto Teversal trail but turn off onto Rowthorne Trail then into grounds of Hardwick. Never had any problems cycling through Hardwick and fantastic downhill to Hardwick Inn. Used quiet roads to join 5 Pits then Morton/Stonebroom back to Teversal trail.…

Ride to the small village of Teversal. This is the location of ficticious Wragby Hall and 'Tevershall' in D H Lawrence's Lady Chatterly's Lover. Wragby Hall was probably Teversal Manor. Lawrence lived in Eastwood, Notts.

Clumber Park and Worksop
Muddy and deep puddles, wet feet!

Wahoo having a laugh
Inredibly fast ride 🤪. Not really, Speed displayed on Roam 3 froze at 16.0 mph during ride. Roam 3 logged many more miles distance that even that speed would suggest. Strange because GNSS mapping and other functions remained accurate.
Even stranger, speed is accurate in the speed graph below.

Thaymar for a decent sausage cob
Great ride trying to avoid mud but some big puddles on gravel tracks south of Clumber. Thaymar Ice Cream cafe very busy for time of year. Return route changed to road avouding mud, passing by Thorseby Hall (Warner Hotel) then through Sherwood Forest.
