Great hike! A GPS is absolutely necessary, as the trails are barely recognizable and—as is always the case in Ireland—there are no markings at all (apart from a few cairns). Unfortunately, you have to take the path along the lake. Another thing: waterproof shoes are essential, as the descent in particular

Of the 8 suggested tours in the area around Bargemon, this is definitely the best tour! The small town of Châteaudouble is also beautiful and invites you to linger with its small cafes and great views.

Beautiful, easy 2-hour walk. If you go anti-clockwise, the last part, just before the town, is no longer passable due to private property. Simply follow the road and take the next turn-off to the left. This only makes the circuit slightly longer.

Great even in drizzle 😉. Better in a clockwise direction.

Fairly easy and can be done in just under 3 hours. Beautiful path, although up to half of it (if walked clockwise) it is a bit monotonous as it is a gravel road. The last, supposedly not so beautiful section "next to" the road is a pure joy. Conclusion: a good 4 hearts.

Wide, drivable forestry and fire service access roads predominate. Not so much for lovers of "real" hiking trails. Overall: so-so. 3 hearts

For those who love walking on farm roads along firebreaks in a quiet but largely unvaried landscape, this is a very easy route. Everyone else is strongly advised to take the many small alternative routes (see map in Komoot). A total of max. 3 hearts :-(
