A 6-mile point-to-point walk across Richmond Park on a Sunday afternoon in early October, during the red deer rut. Starting near Roehampton Gate, the route crosses woodland and open grassland, passing Pen Ponds before heading out towards Richmond town. Stags were frequently seen bellowing and guarding harems, making it a memorable autumn wildlife walk.
