Cycling Tour with @CrossFit Otoyo Strength .
Careful map data at a few places is incorrect - use altitude map for navigation support to avoid going too far down and to reclimb.
A nice gentle ride through the mountain slopes and tea fields, with always great view possible onto the Oboko region.

Total time: ~ 8 hours. Set off 10:50am
Stop 1: Ride main road 11km (approx 35 mins) to Hanan coffee. Wide range of drinks (coffee, milkshake, smoothies) and some food available.
Stop 2: Continue for another km, and you arrive at Yokai Yashiki - folk tale and stone museum. The Yokai museum has many sculptures

We were originally going to go up to Mt Kajogamori however my battery run out as I started the journey with only 35% battey charge. It also started to rain.
The route we took was challenging but very scenic.

This route is moderately challenging, with a few steep climbs that will make you appreciate having an e-bike! The ride takes you through beautiful valleys, rivers, and quiet countryside roads, ending at the scenic Illa Valley Bridge — a truly stunning spot that makes the effort totally worth it. Expect to pass by: • Peaceful rice fields and forest paths • Traditional houses and mountain views • Small local cafés and rest areas We completed the round trip in about 4 hours, going at a relaxed pace and stopping to enjoy the scenery. Things to know: • The route has several steep hills, so take your time and use the e-assist when needed. • Bring cash, as most local places don’t accept cards. • Don’t forget water, sunscreen, and a light jacket (it can get chilly in cooler seasons). It’s a beautiful route and absolutely worth it — highly recommended for those who enjoy a bit of adventure and nature! 🌿✨ このルートは中級者向けで、少しきつい上り坂もあります。電動自転車があるととても助かります! 美しい谷や川、静かな田舎道を通りながら、最後は絶景スポットの イラ・バレー・ブリッジ に到着します。努力した分だけ価値のある素晴らしいコースです。 途中で見られる景色: • 静かな田んぼや森の道 • 伝統的な家々と山の景色 • 小さなカフェや休憩スポット 私たちは景色を楽しみながら、ゆっくり走って往復で 約4時間 かかりました。 注意点: • いくつかの急な坂道があります。無理せずペースを調整してください。 • 多くのお店では現金のみなので、キャッシュを忘れずに。 • 水分補給、日焼け止め、軽い上着(寒い季節は冷えることがあります)を持って行くのがおすすめです。 とても美しいルートで、本当におすすめです!🌿✨

This is an upper intermediate nearly an advance level ride. Must be in good physical condition. Not for beginners. The journey to the ramen shop was filled with plenty of scenic stops that made the effort well worth it. Expect to pass by: • Beautiful rice paddies • Unique bridges • Charming old towns • Mountain rapids, and • If you’re lucky, a few monkeys along the way. The ramen at our destination was absolutely delicious, but we didn’t get to linger too long since we were mindful of the long return ride. Joki COFFEE: Was a really special treat. Some of the best coffee i’ve had while being in japan. The owner is the sweetest person. If time allows stop by for a caffeine boost. ⸻ Things We Wish We Knew: • The ride to the town is mostly uphill, which makes the return leg surprisingly easy and much faster due to the downhill stretches. • Be prepared to share the road with cars, especially during the first half of the trip — you’ll need to be comfortable with vehicles passing or hovering nearby at times. ⸻ If you’re up for the challenge, this route offers incredible views and a rewarding meal at the end. Just plan your timing wisely and ride with confidence! we started at 10:45am got back home around 6:00pm- a 7.5 hr trip total
