A beautiful spring day, excellent legs, and on the horizon, the king of the Jura Mountains, Mt. Chasseral. I start at Biel train station and escape westward along the main road out of the city. After two kilometers, I take a sharp right up Tessenbergstrasse, getting my heart rate up. With every meter

Blue sky, I start at the Biel/Bienne train station and follow the cycle route along the lake to Hagneck. Briefly in a saddle up to the village and then onto the gravel highway along the canal to Aarberg. Familiar terrain. Continue along the Aare to the Niederried power station. Now it's really getting

After a heavy thunderstorm the night before, we are very happy. Blue skies and sunshine to start with. Our route leads through Murat, a first tough climb to warm up. There is hardly any traffic here on a Sunday morning, which makes the ramp on the main road bearable. Shortly before Dienne there is a

In Murol, we first stop at the bakery. It's the only one on this stage and the last place we can buy food for the road.
Outside the village, we take the D5. After the first climb, we turn almost left onto a small country road. It leads us through beautiful, peaceful countryside. Shortly before Sourier

Leaving the city in Clermont-Ferrand means first having to tackle a tough climb. This effort is soon rewarded with a view of the Chaîne des Volcans. We move along small back roads with sparse traffic in a breathtaking landscape.
A highlight of this stage is the view from the Col de Guéry of the Roche

This tour can also be wonderfully combined with the gravel tour from Biel up to Vue des Alps. This can be done as a two-day tour or as a longer tour for the more ambitious.
