I almost turned back at the start because it was horrible but then it turned out to be my favourite ride of the week. The road between yaiza and el golfo blew my mind a little bit. Initially I'd intended to go to playa blanca and just do el golfo as a detour but instead decided to make it the main event.

The uphill on this was so gradual I was very proud of my route planning. There are some big roads and roundabouts near Arrecife but all really nice apart from that.

There was 5k of uphill at the start that isnt included on this. That was horrible and i nearly threw up. Also the NW crosswinds on the road through la geria vineyards was scary. Apart from that it was great:)
