4 1/2 mile circular root from the Bike Base Cafe(start off with a hearty breakfast), over the moors with great views on the approach to Roseberry topping. There are some steep gradients but well demarcated paths to the summit. We opted for our return, down one of the side paths to see the shooting box and chicken shed vending machine, before heading back to Dikes Lane, to return to the cafe.

Short walk along the river with the dogs(easily done, there and back,in under an hour at a slow, steady walking pace) but the girls like to stop and sniff everything and go for an occasional paddle…

After heading north along the beach, we picked up the path across the dunes to Cresswell pond. We lost connection(see our previous saved route, 0.83 miles) so restarted just before the pond and headed up across the fields to Cresswell village, having a stop of at the Pele tower, walled garden and well before heading off to The Widdrington Inn for a delicious Sunday lunch…

At just over a mile each way and taking little more than an hour, this was the perfect shaded walk for the dogs on a hot day, with a stop off at The Castle Eden Inn for a drink in the beer garden.

We took a detour from the old Trainline walk, through a section of the dene but once at the access lane into Crimdon, on the other side of the dene, it clearly stated on four signs, that it was a private road with no public right of way! As a result we ended up walking over a mile down the road(heading towards Hart and then turning off to Clavering) but we picked up the walkway again that took us down to the beach

A nice walk through the nature reserve with some shaded spots and some lovely views from the clifftop path on the way back. The dogs had a chance for a cool down on the beach but easy access down, is just at the far end of the beach(there is a steep path at the opposite. end but not easy with two elderly dogs)

A lovely walk, with mostly shade for the dogs and plenty of opportunities for a cools down in the river. The path is a little overgrown in places but well defined except for the final section where we ended up scrambling up the bank side,. to be confronted with a barbed wire fence however access is possible as the fence is falling down but it proved tricky with the dogs. We were then able to access the road over the bridge, back to allensford park.

A very short evening walk with the dogs, on a hot day, along the riverside until the path runs out at the gorge.
