Go on a day with nice weather! Don't give up and just keep going. It can get steep sometimes (Only in the first half from Point A to the lake) but you won't regret it if you like nice scenery! Short info: Point A to Lagoa do Fogo was stunning! Lagoa do Fogo to Point B was mostly nothing special. More in depth info: Point A to the lake has the most beautiful scenery when hiking towards the lake. For us from all the hikes we did here, this one was the most beautiful. The way back (Lagoa do Fogo to Point B) we followed someone else's komoot route but the scenery was only nice to look at somewhere before you reach the highest point of our activity. If you want to enjoy the scenery more I would recommend to go towards the highest point of this activity (not fully to the highest point) until you think it gets less interesting. Then go back the way you came from because the rest of that way will only be the same ground and a fence of plants on the side that act like a fence and block your eyes from everything else. At point B there should be some parking spots on the road or in the side road provided in the picture. The road towards point B with the car can be very steep for some people depending from where you come. Hope this help you with your hike!

Wandeling

Grota do inferno... Nice view but very touristy in high season. Almost no space to park or walk. I recommend to go either early in the morning or after 6pm if weather is still nice. More peace and quiet + nice view = great succes!

Wandeling

The endpoint of this walk is actually between highlight number 5 and the roundabout. I forgot to turn of my activity and can't seem to find out how to shorten it once posted. We followed a komoot trail and came across unfortunate and fortunate events. In short: Hiked on road instead of forbidden bike route --> found a steep bike route with no signage --> found very nice viewpoint --> walked on road again to get to spooky hotel. -Unfortunate events: In the first half after we passed the dam. The Komoot route send us to a forbidden barricaded mountain bike route so we had to use the road where cars had not that great a visibility on you. After it send you off the road you will think you found a hiking route with no signs but we thought it might've been a very steep (hands on the ground crawling like) mountain bike route. - Fortunate events: Even though it was (or so we think it is... we are not sure) a mountain bike route it looked safer than walking on the road and the bike routes still looked somewhat used (except the forbidden route, this one looked somewhat overgrown at the part that connected with the road that we eventually took). We found a very nice viewpoint (no name & only visible of maps.me) of the lakes and we thought it was quiet a fun adventure.

Wandeling

First part of the hike had some beautiful views on the lakes and the ocean. The closer you got to sete cidades the less you could see and the more you need to watch out for cars on the descent.
