Gravel ride
If you want challenging hills, then the country lanes around Lydden, Swingfield and Barham can provide them in spades. Covet wood provides some great MTB trails in a picturesque setting.
The photo is the BMX pump track at Swingfield, open to all. But restricted access to stop undesirables.

Gravel ride Round Lydden Hill race track.
A ride around the home of rallycross. A tough hill to ride up, but brilliant heading down.
The track is open during the week for people to go round on foot or bike and stop for a drink or snack. Brilliant idea. My 11 year old grandson loved it.

Gravel ride
Many bridleways are partly overgrown with bushes and brambles making cycling more difficult. Also were things have been cut back the cuttings are left on the ground increasing chances of punctures.

Local Gravel ride using mostly bridleways and byways.
Sandwich bay bird observatory and Worth nature reserve are lovely natural wetlands with plenty of wildlife. Very good views of surrounding area due to the flat landscape, with the only high point being Betteshanger park nearby.

Gravel ride
Nice scenic route using bridleways when possible and quiet country roads for most of the rest. Would recommend using the golf road section from Deal to Sandwich Bay, rather than the beach top path, which is very rough for those without full suspension. Also Waldershare Avenue is gated, so best…

Loop around Reculver and Pegwell bay from Eastry.
GPS signal struggled to load map around Chislet, making route difficult to follow. But plenty of quiet country lanes, followed by the brilliant sea wall cycle path from Reculver to Minnis Bay. Nice bar/Restaurant for a break. Before the trip back via Pegwell bay nature reserve.

A loop around Fordwich, Preston and Eastry.
The route from Littlebourne road through to Fordwich is great, with some lovely tracks and a view of the river. Through Patrixbourne are a couple of fords that you can safely ride through most of the year, that are in very picturesque settings. Well worth a look.

A loop around the villages between Dover and Canterbury, From Eastry.
Some very challenging hills, even on an ebike. Although some of the small lanes around Denton and Bossingham were supposedly roads the surface was rough. But all in all a good route, just beware of wrong turns adding distance.

Gravel ride
Mostly quiet country lanes, but main road through wingham is not so quiet. The Duke William pub in Ickham is a nice place to stop for refreshments. As is the lovely friendly Five bells in Eastry, which is great value for money.
