The exposed section above the cliffs from Dover to St Margarets is a challenge in windy, or wet conditions. But from there to Kingsdown is a lovely route downhill all the way.

The country roads used are very quiet, with plenty of opportunities to use more bridleways if required. Some fairly steep hills on west side of A2, but mostly more gentle riding.

As the bridleways are a bit soft at this time of year(end of November) I chose the quiet country lanes. Majority of the ride was virtually car free, so very pleasant, if you discount the strong westerly wind.
