Dan’s clocked up a total of 428 miles (688km) during his incredible run, while my experience supporting his effort was something I’ll never

Thursday took us across the Southern Uplands to the urban sprawl of Glasgow and beyond, to Dumbarton near the Highland Fault Line. The end was drawing ever closer but still seemed a long way off. It was also my birthday, what a way to celebrate!

Having ticked off both Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) and Scafell Pike, it was time to begin the long, arduous run up to the Scottish Highlands. I continued to support Dan from the saddle.

The second day was a journey to the beautiful Lake District for Dan to take on Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain. I continued providing support from my bike and Dan was also supported by several friends at different points along the route.

This was the first day of Dan’s challenge. Starting at 5am, he ascended Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) from Caernarfon, before I met him at Pen y Pass and cycled alongside him to Garstang in Lancashire.
