This was a nice route through beautiful countryside and lake views with lake access. Skinny tire bikes are fine even on a few short gravel side trips, which you can skip if you prefer. At the 300 Acre Recreation Lake, the route shown goes right to the boat launch. I recommend going left to the waterfront

The full trail starts on the paved road, not next to the Portapotties. I saw an otter, a deer, lots of birds, and several small, non-poisonous snakes. Great ride through beautiful woods! Highly recommend!

The first 10 miles and the last 3 miles of this route are on a 55 mph highway with no shoulder and gouged rumble strips. I did it on a Monday morning and I did not like it! Most drivers will give you room as they pass, but a few will just barely graze by you in a manner that feels like they are trying

I started this ride at Johns Island Park on Hay Road, so I don't know what the beginning is like from James Island County Park. I can tell you that 700 (Mabry Hiway), which is about 15 or so miles of this route, has a speed limit of 55 mph, has no shoulder, and is gouged with rumble strips. Riding
