Explore the signs of autumn and the peace of nature in Kivinokka! This outdoor area in Herttoniemi is a culturally significant site with charming summer cottages and allotment gardens. It also features two beautiful nature reserves: the Old Forest of Kivinokka and Viikki–Vanhankaupunginlahti. Kivinokka is a diverse natural area where the forest, coast, and Helsinki’s cultural history meet. The route begins at Kulosaari Manor and follows Kivinokantie toward the nature reserve and the Puumerkkipolku (Signature Trail). Along the way, you can observe mushrooms, plants, and autumn colors, and enjoy peaceful forest scenery. From the birdwatching platform, there are wide views over Viikki–Vanhankaupunginlahti Bay, where various bird species can be seen. The trail continues to Kivinokka’s seaside tip, offering views of the Helsinki archipelago. The total distance is about 2.5 km and can be walked at an easy, relaxed pace. Bring binoculars, a camera, and perhaps a sitting pad. Kivinokka is an excellent spot for birdwatching, scenic photography, and quiet reflection.
