Better snowshoeing in winter. Extremelly beautiful place, very peaceful. In winter the lake is covered by snow. When we went, at the beginning of April, some of the snow had melted, giving place to a small creek and small lake with some ducks. The hiking is very easy.

Hiking Bretaye - Lac de Chavonnes - Bouquetins
Better wearing snowshoes in winter. Cute alpine houses, beautiful lakes and wondeful views. The restaurant in Chavonnes is a cosy place to have lunch or just a drink or snack.

Hiking La Gryonne - La Rasse - Rte du Col de la Croix
Moderate difficulty. Hiking or snowshoeing of moderate difficulty in the woods and steep stairs. Very beautiful landscape of the river, specially when it is snowy.

Hicking Bouquetins - La Berboleuse - Col D'Argnaules - Plan Savoireu - La Truche - Les Ecovets
Recommended to wear snowshoes in winter. Beautiful views of Mouvenans, Dent de Morcles and Dents de Midi. Take the train from Villars-sur-Ollon to Bouquetins.

Hicking Caves of Zinal Glacier
A long hicking to reach the cave of the glacier following a wonderful wide valley and a beautiful river. Views of the magnificent Besso mountain. The cave is amazing. It's possible to go inside passing through a very narrow passage (a little bit claustrophobic).
The only bad point: very crowded.

Walking up Route de la Croix good views of Dents de Midi, Dent de Morcles, Mouveran and Diablerets. There is a photographic exposition and cross-country skiing or snowshoes walking. Hiking Les Chaux - Taveyanne - La Verneyre (Rte du Col de la Croix)
A good hike to snowshoeing in winter. Magnificent views of Taveyanne, a lovely traditional alpine village. Take the cabin lift from la Barbaleuse to Les Chaux.

Hiking Route des Renards, Gryon
