Wandern & MTB (xc, trails) mit Passion. Bei beidem lieber auf individuellen, ruhigen Pfaden mit Stil unterwegs als in der Herde auf ausgetrampelten Wegen - typisch (Unter-)Franke halt...Gerne darf's auch bissi mehr sein, was horizontale Distanzen und/oder vertikale Unterschiede angeht - an dieser Stelle kann ich meinen alpinen Einschlag doch nicht leugnen, der mir während meiner mehrjährigen Zeit in Oberbayern ans Herz gewachsen ist. Räumlich ist mir Spanien zeitweilig fast zur 2ten Heimat geworden, allen voran die Kanaren. Nichtsdestotrotz rocken Rhön, Steigerwald, Haßberge und ihre Nachbarregionen immer noch am meisten - "das Land der offenen Fernen" ist treffender formuliert als alles andere.

An interesting floodplain landscape awaits you here, with numerous gravel pit lakes alternating between them. On the southern bank of the river, you actually experience the bend in the Main River quite differently and see the surrounding area of Schweinfurt from a new perspective on the small hill.

A very long but very rewarding tour with its panoramic views, which I extended with a detour through the Black Moor. The paths are all easily accessible, but you'll need plenty of stamina and plenty of fluids for the 23km in summer temperatures!

Unfortunately, there are no clear signposts for the "Wipfelder Panoramaweg" in several places - beautiful views of the Main valley as well as the Rhön and the Steigerwald are offered.

This extra tour offers a few challenging climbs, but rewards with magnificent views of the northern part of the Rhön Mountains. The airfield, with its mass tourism attractions, is a stark contrast to the otherwise tranquil tour.
