It's a nice view from the top, and when you do the full loop you get the views of the valley on both sides. If you don't want to do the full climb, start the loop in the opposite direction (take a right when the loop starts) until you get to a view point of the lake. This view is nearly as nice as the view from the top.

Great hike! Nice views of the river, lake and mountains. Mid-May was open, although some parts were a bit overrun by vegetation and fallen trees, no trouble for experienced hikers
