The Val Passiria offers an interesting natural spectacle: the wild Passirio Gorge or Passerschlucht, traversable along the "Passeirer Schluchtenweg" path featuring metal bridges and planks. It was opened in 2015 after three years building time - before, the gorge wasn't accessible. The gorge follows the upper river course of the Passirio River, where it has deeply digged into the rocks and shows its full power. The 6.5 km long path starts in San Leonardo in Passiria and ends in Moso, where in the hamlet of Plata another particularity can be admired: The Glacial Mills, also known as Giant's Kettles, are spiral-shaped hollows in the rock and witnesses of the last Ice Age. Sitting accommodations, extraordinary rock formations and swirls accompany the hike through the gorge. Moreover two cascades guarantee refreshing showers in summer with their spray waters. Even three museums can be found near the start and end point of the hike: the MuseumPasseier in the birth house of the Tyrolean freedom fighter Andreas Hofer, 2 km from the beginning of the path. Furthermore, at the end point there are the Stieber Mooseum in the old hydroelectric power station and the Bunker Mooseum in Moso with the Tessa Group Nature Park-Info Point.

The cycle route begins right in St. Leonhard, near the underpass of the bypass road. After about 1 km, the route passes by the MuseumPasseier. The MuseumPasseier – Andreas Hofer consists of the "Heroes & Hofer" exhibition on the ground floor, a folklore section on the first floor, and a typical Passeier farmstead in the open-air area. The cycle route continues past St. Martin, Quellenhof, Saltaus, and Riffian, and ends in the old town of Merano.
