We started the ascent to the Höllenbachklamm from the Zugspitze campsite. Entry costs € 5 p.p. With DAV card only 2 €, so don't forget. After the gorge, the ascent to the Hupfleitenjoch takes place via the Höllentalangerhütte. It is worth stopping here, you are properly fed! This is followed by the spectacular ascent to the Hupfleitenjoch. You should be free from giddiness and sure-footed, but you never notice it. Not suitable with small children. The panorama that emerges on the route is simply great!
After the ascent, there is a gentle descent to the Kreuzeckhaus. A stop is also possible here. Those who want can take the gondola down to the valley from here or descend via the Jägersteig. This is a normal hiking trail.

We started the hike to the Eggishorn from the Fiescheralp. We took the first trip back at 7:15 a.m. for 54 CHF. The ascent to the cable car on Eggishorn is well developed for the first half. The second half is a hiking trail with slightly exposed parts. From the cable car station you can go straight to the summit. Even if the path is easy to walk you should be free from giddiness. From Eggishorn you have a great view of the entire Aletsch Glacier, the Mönch, Eiger and the Jungfrau. You can also see the Matterhorn. Then the hike goes to a great view point at the foot of the glacier (which is almost better than from the summit). A refreshment at the glacier parlor is recommended as there are fantastic cakes here. Then it goes back over the long Tälligratt tunnel to the Fiescheralp.

The approach via Giswil leads over a narrow pass road. This has enough bays but not everyone follows the "Single Road" rules. The ascent to the ice lake is a good and wide hiking trail. After the ice lake the path is narrow and partly exposed. From the top you have a great 360 degree view. We took the descent because a thunderstorm has built up that also offered a great spectacle.
The parking lot was still free and the descent was CHF 25 per person. tasted
