Follow the old train track from Warburton to Lilydale, or the opposite around. It's possible as a day tour as there are bike racks on the bus line 683 that goes between Lilydale and Warburton. It's about 40km and beautiful maintained. Mostly gravel track and only gentle ups and downs on the hills. There are plenty of stops and resting points on the track.
