The descent is exhausting, but overall the trek is very enjoyable: you can see the beginning of the Alazani Valley and walk through beautiful beech forest.

Omalo - Gogrulta (Tusheti, day 5)
Gogrulta is a tiny hilltop village with hardly any residents, but it’s incredibly cosy, and the views are absolutely stunning. Don’t miss it! The route itself is also pretty nice, especially the pine forest opposite the village.

Tanie Lake
Gorgeous views from the ridge. There is a nice new shelter before descending to the lake (it was still under construction in 2025, but already open). The path is clearly visible and well marked. We stayed by the lake overnight and returned the same way to our car.
