You can go by train from Lisbon to Sintra. The bike transport is for free. The first third of the ride is mostly climbing in forests on gravel and single tracks with a perfect view from the top. The second third is descending down to the coast. The last third is a nice bike route along the coast to Cascais, from where a train goes back to Lisbon. The train costs 2,45 €.
