Good use of former colliery land. This route has a LOT of trees so better to go in May or June when the leaves are out not on a drab March day. Nice walk on the flat none the less.

A bit dull, almost half the route being on busy roads. Thornes Park with it's lake, caged birds and walled garden is interesting. Surprisingly a lot of green space along the way including a large municipal golf course. Route goes under and back via the M1. Always interesting spots these. In this case

Almost all on roads and mostly on the ever- busy A638. The lovely hamlet of Heath is the only highlight. Give this one a miss.

Not the greatest walk you'll ever make. Almost all on pavements. A few interesting urban spots. Featherstone's got character but this former mining community should definitely on the 'leveling-up' agenda (remember that broken Tory promise). The Warhorse site is a beautiful memorial to the fallen.

Personally I would shorten this route and spend all my time in the colliery park as this is now beautiful after years of reclamation. The section from Lofthouse Gate along the busy A61 you should avoid.
