In wonderful autumn weather, the Hochstein above Lienz is always worth a little tour. The view of the Dolomites is great. The colored larches let their needles fall and shine against the blue sky.
Unfortunately, the Hochstein hut is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Nevertheless, it is an extremely worthwhile hike.
