Well - downhill all the way and easiest day of the c2c so far.... 8.30 full English breakfast, 9.30 start and sitting in the pub garden by 1.
You could still see the White Lion 4km into the walk - amazing how it stands out as the only building for many miles. It is such a remote pub but so busy in

Well another long day. 33km but more significant 1km of climbing in the morning + 800m down. It was like being on an uneven step machine and the downward stages were very steep. Fortunately it was dry but very strong wind all day. Amazing scenery and you could see Middlesbrough and the North Sea very

Well what a day. 8 o'clock start and interesting first 20km which flew by and found a very comfortable seat for lunch. The next 20km was quite unpleasant with overgrown pathways, mud, poor signage, walking close to traffic on fast roads, dashing over an A road with 70mph traffic etc... however I did

Great to share last evening with Andrew. Lots to catch up with and planning for next year....
Started out with Eva and Lisa from Edmonton, Alberta, before they turned off for the Heriot trail. Walked for a few km and up the Nun's steps with Geoff from Marske. Interesting to hear about the history of

Following on from the last chart 5km into the walk - it did turn cold, wet and windy ! It was also very boggy and the path kept disappearing, so the middle 5km was very slow. Got back safely - great fun

I changed my mind at least 5 times this morning which route to take. Forecast of winds 20-30 gusting 40 with heavy rain, low cloud and temperatures down to 5C (windchill -5C) made me decide on the 'bad weather ' route and I packed accordingly. After setting off I thought I would look at the Green route

Very relaxing day again with check-in at 2.30. Beautiful countryside and superb day for walking.... 4 horses were lying in a field - 3 absolutely chilled out and one with eyes half shut....

Better to walk to the hotel than get a taxi - or so I thought !
Near Orton the paths were great but as I got closer to the motorway no-one had walked them for many years - I wonder why ? Taxi tomorrow - but made some friends with a herd of cattle

Lovely varied walk across moors, up a wooded valley and then along the coast. Walked with Karen, a fell runner from the Lakes, for about 5km across a boggy section and when we got onto the road, i suggested I needed to slow down a little. She said fine see you in RHB and sprinted off. She said I was
