This was a fairly low-difficulty hike, but much of it wasn't particularly picturesque. However, the Steinegg castle and particularly the Silberberg hill were worth the boredom.

This was a nice and fairly easy (for the height variation) hike; much of it was following paved but very lightly trafficked roads. And no, I am not deliberately seeking out Christmas markets; these towns just seem to have them the whole December over.

After 4 months overseas I wanted to see the Black Forest again, but without venturing anywhere deep. This is what came out. There are no must-sees here, but the part from Ortenberg till Ohlsbach was quite nice. The Offenburg-Ortenberg segment was fairly boring (just as expected), and the Ohlsbach-Gengenbach

Having explored the area west of the railroad before, it was now the east side's turn. This would probably have been nicer earlier in the year, but I can't really complain.
Note: The Massapoag's Sportsmen Club has peppered parts of the trail with scary-looking no-trespassing signs. However, every hiking

As expected, this was very nice. The only exception is an overgrown patch of trail around the power line between the Indian Ridge and the Mink Brook reserves.
Fording the river wasn't necessary, as there is a nice bridge.
The part of the trail west of South Main Street is supposedly open dawn till dusk

This was two walks in one. The first was from the Dartmouth coach stay to my hotel in Centerra, and followed paved driveways all along, although none of them was particularly busy. The second was a round walk from and back to the hotel, passing by the Dartmouth College hospital.
Centerra is essentially
Jittery GPX track, but nice actual trail. Probably better when it's brighter and less slippery.
Like
